No project is too large or too small if it s work a client wants completed.Join our team!MAJOR GOALS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:As directed by Director of Technology, provide Virtual Design and Construction (VDC) services on a wide range of projects, which differ from project-to-project.ESSENTIAL ACTIVITIES:
  • Manage the overall VDC process including development of new process and services available.
  • Provide project VDC budgets during the planning and preconstruction phase.
  • Assist with the development and management of the VDC department.
  • Promote Tarlton s VDC capabilities at various industry events and conferences.
  • Manage relationships with VDC product vendors.
  • Evaluate products and services to determine if they are a fit for Tarlton s VDC process.
  • Create BIMs for concrete projects during construction to a fabrication level of detail including formwork, embeds, block-outs, and construction sequencing.
  • Prepare BIMs for use with Robotic Total Stations for layout.
  • Coordination of the VDC process for construction management projects, including performing clash detection, reporting, and verification of clash resolution.
  • Perform laser scanning and point cloud processing.
  • Assist project teams with the use of VDC on all Tarlton projects.
  • Provide training and support to project teams on the use of VDC on their project.
  • Maintain corporate BIM files for projects, interact/coordinate information with field layout foreman and project teams.
  • As directed by Manager of Construction Technology, assist with technology implementations for operations. Examples include laser scanning, BIM based layout, and mobility solutions.

  • Work is normally performed in a typical interior/office work environment. If required, the employee may be located in a trailer at a jobsite location or maintain an office at the Owner s facility.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
  • Very limited exposure to physical risk.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to sit and talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, walk, use hand to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms, and stoop and kneel. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to high and/or precarious places and outside weather conditions.
  • The noise level in the office work environment is usually quiet.

PREREQUISITES (I.E. Education/Experience):
  • Associate Engineering/architectural or construction management/technology degree is preferred.
  • Five years of construction industry experience, preferably in BIM/VDC.
  • Strong reporting, documentation and presentation skills.
  • Must have general and practical construction knowledge and experience.
  • Fluent in the use of Revit, Navisworks, AutoCAD, Revizto, and familiar with other BIM software packages.
