The position is for a Junior or Entry-Level Engineer with an educational background in mechanics/toolmaking. The individual could have some related work experience and would receive specialist training through a development programme and mentoring. They would initially spend time in one of our Plants or Wellness Centre developing their basic skills. The duration of this would depend on previous experience. They would then fully join the Wellness Centre and develop into a highly skilled specialist, and have the opportunity to work on 2 piece beverage can machinery across the UK, Europe and Asia. This is a Wellness Centre based role where you will travel frequently to manufacturing sitesThis is an excellent opportunity for a long-term career to develop technical skills with growing responsibilities in Ball Corporation.Key responsibilities include:

Ensure Health and Safety policy is adhered to at all times - actively support EHS programs in the plants.

Produce detailed technical reports on visits.

Carry out functional check out and commissioning of new machinery.

Carry out troubleshooting, diagnosing technical problems and repair/rectification of existing production equipment.

Implement actions in order to improve the process.

Work in collaboration with manufacturing, engineering and other support teams to complete projects within schedule.

Deliver technical training to plant based teams to improve skills development.

Develop specialist skills to become Subject Matter Expert in designated area of responsibility.

Knowledge and experience required:

Minimum BTEC City & Guilds Mechanical/Electrical/Chemical Engineering or equivalent. Ideally HNC or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering

NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Mechanical manufacturing engineering

Fundamental knowledge of beverage can manufacturing process with respect to core skill required

Excellent computer skills - IT is an essential part of this role, uses include simulation software, design software and reporting

Excellent communication skills - working with people across the manufacturing process

Fluent in English
