- opening files and new matters including conducting conflict of interest checks;
- conducting searches and obtaining certificates (property, company, index, bankruptcy, title);
- property transaction due diligence searches;
- pre-lodgement checking of leases and amendments;
- e-lodgement of leases and amendments to leases;
- general accounts work;
- drafting and preparation of emails, letters and basic documents;
- diary management and booking of meetings;
- telephone handling;
- compiling and editing documents;
- printing, scanning and photocopying of documents;
- credit card expense management;
- organising travel and accommodation; and
- maintain partners/lawyers’ contacts in the firm’s CRM, InterAction and assisting with list management on their behalf for events and communications.
- minimum of five years’ experience as a legal assistant;
- property law experience;
- strong IT skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel;
- strong understanding of the billing process;
- experience in using a legal billing system (Aderant is desirable);
- excellent written and verbal communication skills;
- strong attention to detail;
- strong organisation/ time management skills;
- ability to work under pressure and manage a high-volume workload; and
- proactive and team minded attitude.
