This is a full-time, hourly position.GENERAL REQUIREMENTS * Follow time and attendance guidelines in accordance with the employee handbook.
- Work cooperatively in a team environment and accept and distribute instructions.
- Able to stand for long periods while leaning forward.
- Ability to occasionally lift and / or carry up to 70 pounds individually or 100 pounds with assistance.
- Ability to squat and bend frequently during shift.
- Ability to grasp, reach, twist, push and / or pull using both hands and wrists as needed.
- Capable of accurately operating and reading a scale.
- Able to work around moving conveyors without motion sickness.
- Attention to detail and ability to see and verify small writing and engravings.
- Good communication skills and able to perform basic math without errors.
- Tolerant of seasonally very warm temperatures.
- Knowledge of and ability to follow all Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Complete understanding of Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points (HACCP) and its importance.
- Maintain all Safe Quality Food (SQF) guidelines.
- Maintain excellent personal hygiene and wear appropriate apparel for the job.
- Practice safe lifting techniques, bending and lifting with your legs not your back.
- Pivot with your feet avoiding twisting at the waist.
- Be aware of your surroundings, watching for forklift traffic and trip hazards such as pallets or cords.
- Wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for the job you are doing.
- Never operate equipment for which you have not been properly trained or certified for.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES * Complete all pre-op functions and correctly install temperature chart and appropriate filter assembly.
- Facilitate assembly and setup of packaging machine, verifying correct parts for the product is installed.
- Verify pouch code embossment and that correct film is staged and used for each roll/letter change.
- Enter and verify all correct machine settings are entered into the HMI terminal for the product being run.
- Verify all belts and pumps are operating and that freezer is clear and at the correct temperature.
- Partner with Cook Operator and Team Leader and/or Supervisor especially at startup and product changes.
- Watch seals to assure no leaks, verify pouch weight and monitor packaging fill tank to maintain optimal levels.
- Operate machine at maximum efficiency to minimize down time for roll and letter changes.
- Legibly complete all necessary paperwork to maintain proper records for manufacturing and inventory.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of machine area and perform clean up at production end.
- Other duties as assigned by Supervisors or Management.
- Report any suspicious activity related to food defense.
