We specialise in all Food types, Plants, Soils, Fertilizers, Potable Water, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Surface Water, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater.Job DescriptionThe role of a Laboratory Technician is to prepare and transcribe customer samples into Eurofins Laboratory information management system (LIMs) keeping in mind efficiency, quality and accuracy standards as required by the company.Upon commencement of employment a training plan will be initiated for you. This will include all basic testing tasks appropriate for the work area. As you develop and becomes more competent and proficient with the Basic Job Responsibilities described below, you will be trained in more advanced online and offline areas of the laboratory. These will be evaluated in a timely manner through performance appraisals with Section Supervisor and will be discussed with you as part of your development plan.Laboratory Technicians will:
  • Become competent in interpreting customer analytical requests correctly in an efficient manner.
  • Timely return of customer bins.
  • Become familiar with and adhere to all relevant laboratory quality control procedures relevant to specific areas.
  • Ensure Compliance to the ISO17025 standard at all times by adhering to the in-house quality procedures provided.
  • Complete all documentation on time, accurately and legibly.
  • Keep training up to date and initiate training where possible when able to do so.
  • Adhere to all company standards in the area of safety, housekeeping and quality, notifying a Senior Technician or Team Supervisor of any discrepancies.
  • Ensure that the laboratory work area is stocked with necessary consumables and reagents etc at the start of the day.
  • Housekeeping of laboratory is manintained & clutter free, clean laboratory equipment as required, including fridges, incubators water baths, biohazards waste disposal etc.
  • Provide cover for other members of staff as required.
  • Be flexible, a team player to work in any area of the business as required.
Qualifications
  • Attention to detail, proficient computer skills are highly essential
  • A background in science, tertiary qualification in science and engineering, or candidates with life experience will also be considered.
  • Experience working within a fast paced commercial environment will be advantageous.
  • Must be available to work Monday to Fridayday roster , starting at 11am for fulltime role.
  • Ready for a challenge, desire to continually learn and improve
