- Interpret customer and sales specifications and translate into instructions for manufacture.
- Release and support the design (drawing package and Bills of Material (BOM)) based upon the customer returned documents for manufacturing this equipment.
- Ensure that we meet customer requirements, quality, safety, and cost objectives.
- Prepare, submit and release drawing packages based on customer specifications.
- Maintain planned output to meet schedule and high levels of engineering quality.
- Support manufacturing in resolution of issues and engineering change notices.
- Interface with customers, regional sales and field installation services personnel.
- Promote open communication and maintain effective working relationships.
- Work cross-functionally with multiple teams.
- Plan, organize, lead and execute multiple small and large projects simultaneously.
- Generate ideas for process improvement opportunities and execute small projects.
- Interface with customers, district sales, and field installation services personnel.
- 2nd Level Technical Support for customers and the Shop.
- Complete Design Reviews from other Engineers.
- Drive Continuous Improvement through Lean and Six Sigma methodology.
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or Computer Science from an accredited college or university & 2 years relevant industry experience or Associates Degree in Technology, Drafting, or Mathematics from an accredited college or university & 4 years relevant industry experience.
- Autocad experience required and 3D CAD modeling experience in CREO or similar platform preferred.
- Demonstrated analytical skills with ability to analyze and resolve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to read and interpret schematics, & technical specifications.
- Ability to work independently, or as part of a team.
- Ability to welcome change and work in fast paced environment.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal and leadership skills.
- Project management skills with ability to plan, execute & document programs / projects.
- Self-starter, ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Willingness to support off-shift manufacturing teams.
- Candidates must already have a work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.
