- High school diploma or GED.
- Certified Nurse Aide I (CNA I) in North Carolina.
- Minimum of two years' CNA I experience preferred.
- Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) required.
- Pediatric Emergency Assessment, Recognition, and Stabilization (PEARS) may be required in select areas within one year.
- Patient Assistance: Aid medical staff in patient preparation, examinations, and procedures.
- Nursing Support: Implement the nursing process by providing direct patient care under RN or LPN guidance.
- Room Preparation: Set up, clean, and restock examination rooms, prepare equipment, and maintain treatment areas.
- Communication: Ensure complete, accurate, and timely patient information exchange.
- Specimen Collection: Collect and process specimens for diagnostic testing.
- Medical Record: Document patient care according to medical center policy.
- Point of Care Testing: Perform and maintain competency for point-of-care testing, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
- Effective Communication: Communicate effectively with the healthcare team, colleagues, patients, and families.
- Personal Responsibility: Take personal responsibility and initiative for performance and professional growth.
- Age-Specific Care: Provide age/developmental appropriate patient care.
- Infection Control: Comply with infection prevention policies and handle infectious materials appropriately.
