THIS POSITION IS NOT REMOTE - MUST BE ABLE TO WORK IN SAN ANTONIO, TX.JOB SUMMARY:The Contract Specialist will plan, direct and coordinate contract activities for DLP Services, a large and growing janitorial and cleaning service with government contracts. This individual will work closely with the Contracts Manager and will be responsible for securing additional contracts by responding to applicable government solicitations and RFP's. The Contract Specialist position will play a major role in productivity, efficiency, overall profitability, and performance improvement for all departments. This individual will also provide day-to-day consultation and support to operations and leadership regarding the management and administration of current and future contracts.ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
  • Contract Preparation & Submission - Prepare and submit comprehensive written proposals that meet governmental guidelines.
  • Financial Management - Prepare and submit comprehensive budgets that comply with government regulations. Review expenses and payroll data to improve profitability. Strategize and implement cost-saving measures while still complying with contract guidelines.
  • Compliance Monitoring - monitor existing contracts for compliance with government and union rules, regulations, and contract commitments
  • Coordination and Supervision - coordinate and provide oversight of contracts within the company.
  • Production - manage the work of departments involved in contracts and pricing. Ensure the quality of services provided.
  • Pricing Anylsis
  • Communication - facilitate coordination and communication between support functions. Must have excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Sales and Customer Service - plan and support sales and marketing activities
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:
  • Receives supervision from the Contracts Manager.
  • The position has no formal assigned supervisory responsibility or authority.
  • Must complete jobs without constant supervision.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
  • The principal duties of this position are performed in an office environment.
ALCOHOL AND DRUG TESTING POLICY:
  • This position is subject to the DLP Services LLC, Drug-Free Workplace Policy which includes: Post-Accident Testing, Random Testing, and/or Reasonable Suspicion Testing.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:Education and Experience:
  • Bachelor's Degree in a business-related field of study or 3 years of experience in commercial and government contract administration. Applicants should demonstrate a combination of education and experience from the following options.
  • FAR/DFAR Knowledge and Experience.
  • Fixed Price, Time & Material, Cost Plus, Indefinite Delivery/Quantity & Government Support Services Contract Experience.
  • Industry Relevant Production Experience.
  • Knowledge and Experience in Organizational Effectiveness.
  • Knowledge of Business Principles and Practices.
  • Information Technology Skills.
  • Note: preference will be given to candidates with significant FAR/DFAR knowledge and experience. Formal education and experience should also demonstrate the candidate's ability to "hit the ground running" with minimal training or oversight.
