Job DescriptionJob Title:Automotive Mechanical Service EstimatorLocation:23819 E. Appleway Avenue, Liberty Lake, WA 99019Job Overview:As an Automotive Estimator with Christian Brothers Automotive, you will play a critical role in our automotive shop, ensuring that every customer receives top-notch Digital Vehicle Inspection (DVI) and thorough accurate mechanical repair/service estimate that is grammatically well written to the highest standards. With your excellent communication and organizational skills, you will coordinate with technicians and Advisors to be sure to answer customer inquiries, and maintain an organized repair log to ensure maximum productivity and efficiency.As an Estimator you will be responsible for coordinating the accurate DVI and repair order for the Advisors to present to the customer in a timely fashion. You will also work closely with part supply vendors and other external partners to ensure that we always have the right parts needed to get the job done right. As part of our team, you'll have the opportunity to build lasting relationships with our customers and vendors to help us maintain our reputation as a trusted and reliable automotive shop.Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
  • Reviews all digital vehicle inspections by technicians
  • Address all articulated customer inquiries and prepares estimates for advisors/customers
  • Implements and maintains an effective timely diary within Tekmetric and Autoflow to receive and edit DVIs from the Technicians and generate thorough accurate estimates for repairs and recommended maintenance services.
  • Communicate with Advisors to set expectations for repair cycle time, parts issues and repair options to assist them with servicing sales.
  • Work to facilitate maximum productivity in accordance with the shop policy and help distribution of service tickets to technicians considering the workload, difficulty, and customer needs
  • Present the best solution to properly repair our customer’s vehicles in a way that is easy for them to understand
  • Ensure that all work is estimated to be performed within proper specifications and within the time promised to the customer
  • Build relationships with part supply vendors, tool vendors, and all external vendors effectively
  • Communicate part availability and potential issues with Advisor as they relate to repair options
  • Prepares a list of needed service department equipment, supplies, and required repairs needed on any complex repairs- reviews service department repairs with the Service Manager as needed
  • May assist in parts management and through this may be responsible for the part supply process, including inventory, pricing, returns, warranty claims, etc.
  • Regularly interacts with external vendors on parts inventory and pricing
  • Works together as a team and assists other employees as needed
  • Other duties as assigned
QualificationsQualifications:
  • Excellent communication skills: Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with technicians, customers, and other team members to ensure that everyone is on the same page
  • Strong organizational skills and problem-solving skills: Estimators/Dispatchers are responsible for coordinating multiple work orders, scheduling appointments, and managing paperwork. They must be highly organized to ensure that everything is completed accurately and on time
  • Customer service skills: Must have strong customer service skills to answer customer inquiries, address concerns, and ensure that customers are satisfied with the work that is performed on their vehicles
  • Proficient in Windows-based computer software and automotive store applications
  • Previous experience in an Automotive Sales, Advisor/Writer, Estimator and/or Technician Services position preferred
Physical Requirements:
  • Being dependable and reliable for a position that is scheduled for Monday – Friday, 7am – 6pm
  • Being on your feet the majority of the workday (standing, walking, coordinating parts, etc.)
  • Occasionally lifting and carrying objects over 50 lbs.
  • Keeping a brisk work pace in a high-volume environment
