Environmental Planner III

- Preparation of National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA) documentation, including Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, Findings of No Significant Impacts, and Environment Impact Statement sections.
- Project management including development and tracking schedules, and coordination with technical staff and clients.
- Tasks include occasional site visits, research, data collection, and technical writing.
- Assist in supporting marketing pursuits, preparation of proposals, and formulating cost estimates.
- Support senior staff with business development.
- Attend and/or present at project and public meetings and assist in preparing meeting materials and compiling meeting results, including PowerPoint presentations, and other materials.
- Manage small and medium-sized projects and serve as a deputy project manager or task lead on larger, more complex projects.
- Oversee the work of junior staff and mentor others.
- Work directly with clients and subconsultants.
- BA/BS in environmental studies, planning, or related field.
- 4 years of relevant experience or demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education related to environmental planning, conservation planning, and/or natural resources planning, with experience in NEPA document preparation.
- Valid Driver's license required.
- Master's degree in environmental studies, planning or related field.
- Experience as Project Manager and/or Deputy Project Manager on environmental planning projects (minimum 3 years).
- Experience preparing and/or managing NEPA environmental documents with extensive knowledge of current regulations and guidance (minimum 3 years).
- Understanding of regional programs and permits relating to natural/water resources planning and coastal zone management.
- Due to the nature of this role, U.S Citizenship is required.
