Boys & Girls Clubs of the Peninsula (BGCP) proudly stands as the largest expanded learning provider in San Mateo County, dedicated to empowering 5,400 TK-College students across 29 sites from East Palo Alto to Daly City. The School Site Director is responsible for overseeing a high-quality extended learning program for students. They will collaborate with families, school staff, and community partners to ensure the program's success. As a member of the BGCP Site Leadership Team, the Site Director will provide input and feedback to ensure consistent implementation of the program. This role serves as a "second shift school principal" to support students' extended learning and promote school success.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to effectively convey ideas clearly, listen actively to diverse perspectives, and adapt communication style to various audiences, both in verbal and written communication
  • Critical Thinking: Ability to analyze complex situations, make informed decisions, and solve problems effectively. It involves evaluating information, considering various perspectives, and making sound judgments that align with BGCP's mission and goals. Be comfortable with making and owning decisions with confidence.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership: Ability to efficiently collaborate with site team and external partners towards common goals by breaking down barriers and fostering teamwork through effective project management and interpersonal skills
  • Safety & Risk Management: Ability to implement safety protocols, in alignment with BGCP standards, to ensure the well-being of members, staff, volunteers, and guests. This includes emergency response planning and coordination, site access control, and policy adherence
  • Supervision & Staff Development: Ability to recruit, train, and supervise program staff & volunteers. Providing ongoing coaching and support to ensure staff & volunteers are well-equipped to work with youth
ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIESEnsure Program Implementation & Fidelity
  • Create and publish daily "deliverables" or tasks for staff to complete each day that contribute to the overall success of program
  • Conduct weekly or bi-weekly observation of staff during programming
  • Create and publish site calendar and quarterly program schedules
  • Create and enforce clear written expectations and standards of excellence for students and staff
Manage & Develop Site Team
  • Facilitate weekly or bi-weekly 1v1 meetings with direct reports and instructional support staff (ISS) for assessing and evaluating performance, providing constructive feedback, and implementing performance improvement plans when necessary
  • Advocate and find solutions for the needs and interests of the program students and staff
  • Collaborate with instructional coach and associate director to determine weekly program goals and focuses
  • Exemplify both professionalism and youth development behaviors to cultivate a positive culture for both staff and students.
Manage & Develop Site Systems
  • Create and facilitate weekly staff meetings to ensure effective communication, collaborative problem-solving, and alignment with organizational goals, fostering a positive team culture and continuous improvement.
  • Develop and train staff on the Site Plans (Safety Plan, Emergency Plan, etc.), aligned with partners
  • Create and ensure the maintenance of site data management systems to maintain important student rosters – including Remind emergency contacts, authorized pick–up lists, unauthorized pick–up lists, student walker lists, etc.
  • Complete monthly audits of data systems to ensure that the ASES & ELOP data is accurate across BGCP and District platforms (Rosters, Food/Snack Distribution etc.) etc.
  • Create and maintain systems for budget management, materials inventories, emergency supplies, program materials purchases, and happyfox (internal) requests
  • Create and enforce systems for caregiver communications
Manage School Partnerships
  • Facilitate weekly or bi-weekly meetings with school leadership/community school coordinator
  • Create opportunities for partners to engage with program (at least quarterly)
  • Establish systems for sharing key information (enrollment, incident reports, annual action plans etc.) with school partners
  • Collaborate with school partners to align on behavior management systems
Oversee Site Budgets
  • Review budgets and expenses monthly/quarterly with regional leader
  • Develop annual budgets with regional leader
  • Review and approve staff hours (Trinet)
  • Perform additional relevant duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Commitment to BGCP’s mission and vision and working with K-8 youth
  • B.S. degree or 5 years of equivalent experience
  • A minimum of one-year successful experience in an educational environment
  • Experience building relationships with diverse youth communities and constituents
  • Ability to motivate through positive reinforcement
  • Strong communication skills
  • Flexible in navigating a fast-paced environment
  • Preferred one year of experience working with K-8 youth
  • Spanish fluency is a plus

  • Employment Status: Full-Time Salary
  • Pay Range: $75,000 - $85,000, depending on experience (DOE)
  • Health Benefits:
  • Full-Time Employees: BGCP covers 100% of medical, dental, and vision premiums; 50% for dependents

ONBOARDING PROCESS
  • BGCP will cover all onboarding process requirements
  • Complete LiveScan and Checkr background check
  • Undergo a TB test
