- Collaborate in the development, implementation and evaluation of business strategies designed to improve sales, reduce costs and make their location a better place to work.
- Develop and maintain communications processes and procedures between shifts, departments and divisions.
- Foster good working relationships with our customers and ensure that the distribution center is responding appropriately to their needs.
- Recruit management and support team members.
- Direct the Labor Standards Department to ensure accurate weekly performance reporting and provide support for performance improvement.
- Partner with the Safety department to develop effective safety programs.
- Review all accident reports.
- Ensure safety training, retraining and disciplinary action is administered.
- Lead a zero incident safety culture.
- Ensure physical inspection of facilities and equipment are compliant with local, state and OSHA regulations.
- Direct all distribution activities, including: Safety, Shipping, Put away, Replenishment, Receiving, Order selection accuracy, Labor standards, WMS utilization, Slotting, Workforce optimization, P&L accountability, Handling of returned/damaged goods and Inventory management.
- Support Team Member development by providing information on changing work rules and compliance issues.
- Develop and maintain communications processes and procedures between shifts, departments and divisions.
- Develop Team Members by leading efforts to implement training and communication processes that promote continuous learning, and personal and professional development.
- Implement training that meets production demands while enforcing rules in accordance with the conditions of the collective bargaining agreement.
- Ensure that Team Members have opportunities to develop proper utilization of tools and technology.
- Direct appropriate discipline for all Team Members on campus to ensure consistency.
- Foster good working relations with union Team Members and representatives by addressing their concerns.
- Promote an environment focused on safety pertaining to Team Members, product and equipment.
- Actively participate in, and promote, an environment which embraces diversity, inclusion and respect for Team Members, guests, vendors and the community.
