This position will work no more than 39 hours per week. The starting pay for this position is $18.75/hour and is eligible to enroll in the City and County of Denver’s 457b retirement plan. This position is not eligible for other additional benefits. On‐call positions may have routine or variable work schedules.LocationThese positions will report to 4495 Jason Street in Denver but will work at various locations throughout the city.What You’ll DoThese are seasonal positions that will work no more than 39 hours per week and are not eligible for benefits.Parks Amenities Maintenance Workers play an essential role in supporting the operation and maintenance of Denver’s extensive network of parks amenities such as playgrounds, trails/related pathways, and other related parks amenities and structures. This position is a great opportunity for those looking to gain a solid base of skills and knowledge in the hopes of a more stable career in park maintenance or infrastructure maintenance and construction.One of these positions will work as a part of the Amenities Legacy Team focused on park improvement projects. This position will be funded through the 2018 Ballot Measure 2A: Parks and Open Space Sales Tax (2A funding), a 0.25% sales tax that has been dedicated to the improvement and expansion of Denver’s parks and recreation system, thanks to Denver voters.Skills to be developed and utilized in these positions include, but are not limited to, the following:Work outdoors and sometimes indoors on various parks amenities using and maintaining various hand-powered tools and motorized equipment in a safe and efficient mannerAssist in responding to amenities maintenance requests and scheduled projects or tasksAssist with troubleshooting, repair, and installation of various amenities such as fencing, concrete, welding, asphalt, and playground equipment and structuresSupport operations related to inspections to ensure safe and effective functioning and condition of amenitiesSupport operations to maintain, clean, or restore infrastructure and amenitiesPerform snow removal operations such as plowing, shoveling, and de-icing as neededPerform various related duties as needed such as trash collection, bathroom maintenance and cleaning, vandalism repair/graffiti removalAbout YouWhat You’ll BringWe value diversity of ethnicity, race, socioeconomic status, sexual identity, gender, religion, language, ability, and experience and exemplify this through the makeup of our team at all levels.
