Direct Support Professional--Nights (Sleeping permitted during client sleeping hours)Full-Time, $17.65-18.90 average pay per hour. Average pay is derived by averaging pay during weekdays hours (lower) and premium weekend pay hours (higher)Hill & Dales is a non-profit organization dedicated to building meaningful lived for people with disabilities. We are seeking Direct Support Professionals to support children and adults with intellectual and physical disabilities!As a Direct Support Professional scheduled on nights, you will support clients in their evening and morning routines and provider oversight, availability and support during the night when clients are typically sleeping. A lot of the work is assisting with activities of daily life (getting dressed, bathing, toileting, eating, shopping). The flip side is accompanying people in pursuit of a life meaningful to them. Hitting up an evening concert, entertainment and or helping a clients get ready for work in the morning are all woven into this position. Visit to learn more! Night DSPs generally have a less demanding workload due to the hours clients are sleeping. Hills & Dales permits employees in this position to sleep when clients are sleeping and when all other job duties are complete. Depending on the schedule of the clients and what they choose to do, an employee may be able to sleep between 5-9 hours per shift. Wait...paid sleeping?! Yes, you read that right!Some duties include (see full job description attached for more):
  • Bathing, toileting, hygiene support (lifting required with support of lifts)
  • Supporting exercise and mobility
  • Documenting on client progress toward goals in their personal plans
  • Communicating and coordinating with teams and others to support clients in the most effective way
  • Monitoring health and wellness
  • Accompanying clients to outings and events they are interested in
  • Supporting work-skills development
  • Monitoring environments for potential hazards and risks and supporting clients in navigating these
  • Assisting clients in expressing their feelings in emotions in appropriate ways. Supporting challenging behavior if necessary.

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license, reliable personal vehicle, and valid insurance limits
  • Must successfully pass criminal background check, drug screen, and driving record check
Available schedules:
  • 12-13 hour shifts between 5AM and 8PM (Days)
  • 12-13 hours shifts between 5PM and 8AM (Nights)
  • Generally a combination of 3-shifts between Sunday-Wednesday OR 3 shifts between Wednesday-Saturday. (Ex Sun 5A-5P, Tues 5A-5P, Wed 5A-5P).
  • Most schedules require 1 weekend shift
  • Most scheduled do not rotate and are the same
  • Ability to trade shifts without using PTO is generally acceptable
  • Allows for many days off with no use of PTO.
