- Continually foster an industry leading safety culture focused on incident reduction, safety improvement, and operational sustainability
- Administrator corporate auditing functions, including: TMSA, TSMS, ISO, ISM, and various other auditing functions
- Maintain and grow HSE-related business systems including Intelex
- Maintain the company’s Safety Management System (“SMS”)
- Support ongoing administration of Company Quality programs
- Oversee the administration of the Management of Change (“MOC”) process
- Lead incident investigations and report production for customers and internal stakeholders
- Oversee the Safety Incentive Program (“SIP”)
- Coordinate the collection and facilitation of the Non-Conformity Report process
- Serve as the Company Security Officer (“CSO”)
- Oversee the Masters Review process and regional Masters Meetings
- Work with Operations and Engineering Departments in administration of the Subchapter M Regulations
- Oversee the development and publication of the monthly Safety Packet
- Participate in Spill Management Team and environmental programs as required
- Perform related duties as assigned by Senior Management
- Extensive knowledge of the oil transportation and maritime industry
- Experience in tug, barge, and ATB operations
- Prior experience managing employees required
- Four (4) year college education in maritime or related studies preferred
- Ability to interpret and execute complex oral and written instructions
- Strong interpersonal skills to establish, maintain and work effectively with all levels of management and employees
- Maintain the confidentiality of all sensitive communications
- Ability to work independently with minimal direction and supervision
- Must be physically fit to board barges and tugs
- Possess a valid TWIC card
- Must possess a valid state drivers' license for occasional use of company vehicle or rental car
- Valid Merchant Mariner's Document/Credential preferred
- Frequently required to board tugs, barges, and ships, at dock or at anchor at all hours.
- Normal office hours are 8:00am to 5:00pm Monday through Friday however may be called out to work weekends and holidays as needed
- May be required to travel both domestically and internationally
