Platform Distribution Strategy is looking for a Manager, Business Strategy and Development to identify, create, and evaluate sales strategies and tactics to advance the content distribution business.in support of our Direct-To-Consumer and linear network distribution with digital platforms and MVPDs. In addition, the Manager will head projects that help shape Disney Platform Distribution’s long-term strategy, including evaluating new opportunities, strategic approaches, and marketplace trends.Responsibilities:Support negotiations with key distribution partners by aiding in the creation of proposals, term sheets, and financial modeling in support of a ~$5B revenue businessWork with the Platform Distribution Sales teams in support of Pay TV / linear network, and direct-to-consumer distribution strategies representing the entire Walt Disney Company portfolio of contentDevelop platform or service-focused analyses for distribution opportunities and conduct ongoing evaluations around key business drivers, industry trends, new business models and strategiesServe as a team leader and project manager working with junior team members, contributing to specific skill and long term professional development as well as fostering an inclusive team culture for learning and growthEstablish and maintain relationships with diverse group of partners within Disney Platform Distribution as well as across the organization with international business teams, Legal, Finance, Network Groups, Research, Programming and broader segment in order to collaborate on key analyses and deal goals and help drive decisions and impactMaintain an in-depth understanding of content distribution and the market landscape for Pay TV, transactional, and direct-to-consumer (e.g., Disney+, ESPN+, Hulu)Required experience:At least 5 years of work experience (At least 3 years of work experience in a strategy, finance, or business development role preferred)Understanding of media industry landscape, including competitors and current trendsStrong proven written, verbal, quantitative / modeling skills (including Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel)Ability to develop strong collaborative relationships with internal and external partnersAbility to manage competing priorities effectively and work efficiently in a fast paced environmentPreferred QualificationsWork experience in investment banking and/or management consultingIndustry experience in media, technology and/or with subscription business modelsExperience in contract review and interpretationExperience managing (directly and/or indirectly) and growing junior team membersMBA or other relevant advanced degree#DISNEYPLATFORMDISTRIBUTIONThe hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $127,500 – $165,000 per year. The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors.
