If you are a talented and experienced Supervisor, Aplin has partnered with a Winnipeg-based company to hire a Concrete Foreman. This is a Monday to Friday role.Our client, a Landscape Design/Build & Maintenance company, is seeking a Concrete Foreman to run a crew. Their services include commercial & residential landscape design and construction, year-round maintenance, and snow removal in winter months.Position Overview:
As Concrete Foreman, you will be responsible for ensuring optimal quality and responsibility on the job site. You will be managing schedules, material selection, problem solving, working with sub trades and crew, all while providing excellent service and a top notch finished product. While a Concrete Foreman's day-to-day duties and responsibilities are determined by where they work, there are many core tasks associated with the role, which include:
  • Managing construction projects
  • Following blueprints and drawings
  • Supervising and assisting crew members
  • Preparing and installing concrete
  • Daily reports and documentation
  • Operating heavy machinery

Required Skills / Qualifications / Personal Characteristics:
  • Minimum of 3 - 5 years' experience in concrete works
  • Strong understanding of equipment used in concrete projects (ex. loaders, skid steers, excavators)
  • Experience in all stages of exterior concrete work, from base through forming and finishing
  • Education and certifications an asset
  • Management skills - ability to effectively schedule, coach, direct and support crews between 2-10 members
  • Exceptional time management skills - task prioritizing, scheduling of crews and tasks
  • Ability to lead and manage independently, demonstrate integrity on properties, obtain and maintain respect from work crews (employees and sub trades) as well as customers
  • Strong team orientation (“That's not my job” is not an acceptable statement or mindset in our team environment)
  • Entrepreneurial attitude and general appreciation for small business operation
  • High standards in safety are required
  • Physically demanding, handling heavy loads, bending, crouching, kneeling, working some nights and weekends
  • Valid class 5 driver's license required
  • Must be able to operate heavy machinery
