Job Description:SummaryJoin our team as an Armed Security Officer!Primary duties of the ASO include but are not limited to: first response to emergencies; enforcing federal law and assimilated state law; conducting mobile patrols, inspections and searches; conducting traffic enforcement and traffic investigations; initiating detention and transporting persons; perform protective service work such as guarding FLETC owned or leased buildings and property; protecting FLETC equipment and material; controlling access to FLETC installations by employees, visitors, and residents; and other duties as assigned.**Incentives for Full Time New Hires***
Referral bonus of $500 if the referral has been employed on contract for six months. Bonus will be awarded at the six-month mark.New hire bonus of $1000. $500 paid after completion of initial training and $500 paid at the six-month mark of employment.
ResponsibilitiesHere's what tasks you'll take on day to day:
  • Required to follow all company personnel and safety policies, and perform all assigned duties in a safe work manner.
  • Will arrive at work in proper uniform and carrying needed, issued equipment.
  • Will be required to exercise force up to and including deadly force.
  • Will participate in Guard Mount, receive assigned post, and copy any extra instructions.
  • Will carry out general and special orders for post assigned.
  • Will communicate via radio, telephone and orally according to orders.
  • Required to interact and escort as required with public and government personnel.
  • Will provide access control, traffic control and conduct walking and motorized armed security functions.
  • Will be responsible for cleanliness of uniform and equipment assigned.
  • Will follow applicable standard operating procedures and FLETC regulations pertaining to security of weapons, buildings, personnel, FLETC property and equipment.
  • Will conduct personnel, vehicular, building, & facility checks and package & parcel inspections.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours to include weekends and holidays if needed.

QualificationsHere's the qualifications we need from you to join and succeed with the team!
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Must be at least 21 years of age.
  • Two years of service in the United States Armed Services (including Reserve or National Guard), or
  • Any combination of two years of experience in physical security (as a security officer - armed or unarmed) and service with the United States Armed Services (including Reserves or National Guard), or
  • Associate’s Degree in a Security or Law Enforcement related field, or
  • Successful completion of a police officer’s basic training academy.
  • Must possess and maintain a valid state driver’s license.
  • Must meet or exceed the Minimum Medical and Physical Standards for an Armed Security Officer.
