This team is challenged daily to provide cutting edge technology solutions to our clients.SRC is searching for a Senior Systems Engineer- VDI to design, implement and troubleshoot Virtual Desktop Infrastructure for United States Space Command (USSPACECOM) command and control facilities. Work supporting USSPACECOM will be conducted at the government's facilities in Colorado Springs, CO.PRIMARY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Manages several projects simultaneously from design to implementation and provides installation oversight at a new facility by engaging with functional area managers (FAMs) and other project and systems engineers to ensure the procured Virtualization solution will support either VMware Horizon View or Citrix VDI for over 600 users throughout the space
  • Designs Virtualized Desktop infrastructure (VDI) at the unclassified and Secret level
  • Provides desktop services via Zero Client, Web Client or Trusted Thin Client delivery methods
  • Maintains and modernizes Virtualization Solutions from Bare Metal to Service Delivery
  • Engineers and integrates emerging technologies with legacy systems to deliver enhanced capabilities to the customer, and assists in Testing those capabilities within VLAN separated environments
  • Delivers integrated technology solutions to the O & M Contractor team for full lifecycle management
RequirementsMINIMUM SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • 6-10 years of experience in Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) Installation, Configuration and Management; including but not limited to Hypervisor installation, VDI Environment Buildout and base image creation & management.
  • 6-10 years of experience configuring and administering Windows Domains e.g. Active Directory, DNS, DHCP and GPO Management while providing Tier 2 and 3 support.
  • Active DoD 8570 Level II Certification (e.g. Security+, CySA+, GICSP, CISSP, CCNP Security)
DESIRED SKILLS & REQUIREMENTS:
  • 10 years of DoD System Administration Experience with focus in Windows Domains as Tier 2 or 3 support provider
  • Experience with Resource Allocation within Virtual Environments and ability to communicate these to Functional Area Managers
  • Ability to build good relationships with peers, business partners, and clients.
  • Develop VDI solutions that can be easily tailored to procured resources and customer requirements e.g. GPU and Non-GPU use cases
  • Create and modify Installation Design Plans (IDP) and System Operational Verification Test (SOVT) documentation
  • Experience required with planning, design and implementation of Virtualized systems, to include configuration management, upgrades and troubleshooting issues from the Presentation Layer to the Physical Layer..
  • Experience with Cross Domain Solutions (e.g. Forcepoint TTC)
  • Must be able to work collaboratively within a fast-paced, multi-disciplinary team. Strong verbal and written communication skills, ability to thrive in a diverse, fast-paced environment
  • Experience with design and installation of Citrix VDI Solutions
  • Experience with Cisco networks and equipment; ability to configure ports for Virtual Hosts

Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.
