We reserve the ability to adjust the final compensation for this role based on the final candidate's experience, skillset, certifications, and geography.The RoleBuzzFeed is looking for a Social Media Fellow to focus on link and video publishing strategy for some of BuzzFeed's essential brand pages; across Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter (X) - including BuzzFeed, BuzzFeed Video and others. You will use data to inform decisions and will work with the editorial writers and producers to ensure that our content is being released across all social platforms.This Fellowship is a 3-month contract with the possibility of extension. Fellows work 40 hours per week with a Sunday to Thursday schedule and are initially paid $18/hr. The Fellowship allows for candidates to work fully remotely on the West Coast (must be in PST), but there will also be opportunities to work from our LA office locations if desired.The deadline to apply for this fellowship is Friday, May 3rd, 2024 by 5pm EST. - Plan, schedule, publish, and analyze BuzzFeed posts across multiple social media platforms including Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, Pinterest, and Twitter (X)
- Use knowledge of Internet culture and user behavior to present our content in the most shareable way, helping them to have the biggest reach and impact
- Monitor discussions, posts, and comments across multiple social media channels
- Analyze and assess performance across social media channels. This includes the performance of individual posts and content, as well as broad trends across platforms
- Assist with experiments on emerging platforms to strategize new opportunities for revenue
- Collaborate with other members of the Social team as well as our video and editorial teams to meet traffic and revenue goals.
- Reports to Sr. Social Media Strategist
- Some social media experience and exposure to content creation calendars
- Understanding of the digital landscape and a high interest in keeping up-to-date with developments in web platforms
- Native Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok user
- Deep enthusiasm for experimenting with content and strategy to improve for important metrics
- Are you a meme enthusiast? Are you interested in pop culture - a definite plus!
- Analyze and assess metrics across all social platforms listed above
- Experience with how headlines, captions, SEO, and thumbnails can affect a post performance
- Proven organizational skills
- The ability to work with diverse teams to achieve common goals
