PLEASE NOTE THAT NOT ALL TASKS ARE INCLUDED.Participates in the decision making process of the treatment team including formulating therapeutic activities and recommending a treatment plan.Fulfills the duties of case manager for a specialized caseload of clients with medical or behavior problems requiring coordination of services with many professionals, and having severe consequences of injury or harm.Manages a caseload by scheduling appointments, evaluating client progress in counseling sessions, and making recommendations to the treatment team.Conducts complex assessments and independent selection and use of varied in-depth therapies in the treatment of individuals with multi-problem dual diagnosis substance abuse problems (as defined by the Licensed Professional Counselors Board of Examiners in Rule (LAC 46:LX.503.e)).Develops and plans services that address and/or include family therapy, marital counseling, child abuse and sexual abuse therapy, major family disruption, developmental disabilities, death, and suicide.Serves as co-therapist with other behavioral health professionals to perform case management or direct treatment services for a specialized complex caseload of clients with alcohol and drug abuse problems.May provide expert testimony and recommendations on behalf of clients in court cases in response to judges and other officers of the court.Serves as liaison and coordinator between clients, families, communities, and service providers.Louisiana State Government represents a wide variety of career options and offers an outstanding opportunity to make a difference through public service.
