Description :Oversee inspection activities involving the Coordinate Measurement Machines (CMM. Support the creation and editing of CMM programs (from Customer drawings and CAD files). Support all inspection requirements and processes.· Assist in troubleshooting programs as required· Support tooling and fixturing for new parts as needed· Use the CMM to measure part dimensions· Maintain electronic files for all programs· Continually work to improve and optimize programs as required· Support Engineering in creation of documentation necessary to inspect parts in inspection and on production floor· Stays current with the latest technology and software upgrades· Perform in-process inspection(s) of products to determine conformance to all specifications.· Utilize various measuring tools, including calipers, micrometers, gages and other hand held measuring devices for open set ups· Use an Optical Comparator for measurement of parts and characteristics· Use optical measurement equipment to measure part dimensions· Understand and perform to all current quality standards· Prepare and update Company and Customer inspection records as required· Communicate inspection results effectively with co-workers and supervisors· Use basic statistical techniques for evaluation of measurement data and trends· Train others on inspection techniques and tools, if needed· Work closely with engineering to determine documentation and part job requirements, if needed· Keep machines and work area clean and organized at all times· General maintenance of machines as needed· Work closely with engineering team to define all inspection requirements· Perform safe operation of machines· Complete all required paperwork· Abide by and support all safety and quality system requirements· Provide good feedback and promote good communication· Promote and live company culture· Other duties and responsibilities as assignedTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:· Attendance/Punctuality – consistently at work and on time· Dependability – follows instructions, responds to management direction· Strong attention to detail· Process Improvement minded· Able to communicate verbally and in writing· Shows sound judgement· Willingness to ask questionsTo perform the job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
