  • Supervise preventative maintenance and repair of equipment for landscaping, plumbing, electrical repair, fire extinguishers, sprinklers, carpentry, etc.
  • Design, construct, and maintain water features, retaining walls, walkways, planting beds, native plant gardens, courtyards, and fences.
  • Manage vendor contracts for mowing, landscaping, security, etc.
  • Assist with event set up.
  • Communicate with fire and police officials.
  • Process invoices and expense reimbursements, order supplies, and monitor budget compliance.
  • Perform supervisory duties, including training, scheduling, time sheet approval, performance appraisals, etc.
Ancillary Job Duties
  • Other duties as assigned.
Education and Experience
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Four (4) years of experience involving electrical, plumbing, air conditioning and carpentry work, one (1) year of which must have been in a leadership capacity.
  • Must maintain a valid, current driver's license.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
  • Ability to operate tools and equipment for building and land management.
  • Working knowledge of building structures, mechanical systems, fire systems and applicable codes.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair HVAC, plumbing and electrical systems, as well as small engine power equipment.
  • Ability to obtain Refrigerant Recovery Certification.
  • Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with Department staff, sales representatives, contractors, and service personnel.
  • Ability to make independent decisions and act quickly and decisively on the determined course of action.
  • Ability to work varying shifts and hours, as needed.
Work Environment
  • Frequently work in outdoor weather which may be hot, cold, wet or humid.
  • Occasionally exposed to loud noises which may require the use of hearing protection.
Physical Abilities
  • Move about grounds, both inside and outside of buildings.
  • Frequently communicate and exchange accurate information.
  • Clarity of vision and three-dimensional vision.
  • Regularly lift up to 5 pounds, correctly lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Concentrated attention is required at all times.
  • Regular attendance is a necessary and essential function.
