It is an engineering position to facilitate and support all product designs with component and manufacturing process selection, evaluation, and qualification activities between the customer, the Kimball manufacturing site(s), and Design Services, including coordination of changes.You Will:You will spend the majority of your time working to find solutions for the customer with important personnel located globally, through active engagement with KEI's Global facilities, Design Services our customer's engineering team and suppliers. Our new team member will be the main contact between the customer's technical teams and Kimball, communicating and advocating for Value-Engineering projects across all programs back to Kimball plants. You will also provide technical consultation to the Program Manager and Business Manager on component-related issues. You will work with our customers and coordinate activities to find win-win solutions.You Have:
  • A willingness to travel both within North America and internationally.
  • work independently at a customer's or supplier's location and remote from Kimball Electronics facility.
  • 3 or more years' experience in product development or manufacturing engineering (VA/VE) support related activities
  • experience in a multicultural environment.
  • communication skills and comfortable with direct customer interaction.
  • Electrical or Mechanical Engineering degree.
  • Exposure to Lean/Six Sigma and other problem solving processes and techniques.
  • Major Program/ Project Management skills.
  • 5 years of Project or Program Management experience.
  • work with teams (without direct reports).
  • Detail oriented and responsive to both the customer and Kimball's operational needs.
