VENTEON Finance is hiring a DIRECTOR OF PAYROLL to provide strategic leadership and overall guidance in all aspects of the payroll operation. Work directly with upper management to define goals, resolve critical issues, plan & execute programs, and projects. You will manage and oversee multiple teams related to payroll, transactional, and HRIS activities.   • Bachelor s degree in Human Resources, Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field required.
  • Master s degree or Certifications such as Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or SHRM given preference.
  • Over ten years of experience supporting multi-state , union/non-union payroll. This includes setup, processing, and reporting.
  • Subject matter expert in payroll laws, regulations, and compliance for federal, state, and local taxes.
  • Experience with various pay groups, special pay types, compensation, benefits, rewards programs needed.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills .
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Payroll and HRIS systems
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks simultaneously, changing priorities as needed.
  • Ability to work under pressure and adapt to changing requirements with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Person with integrity who can meet the demands of the position.
Duties of the Director of Payroll:
  • Work directly with upper management to define goals, resolve critical issues, plan & execute programs, and projects. You will manage and oversee the Payroll Manager and direct teams related to payroll, transactional, and HRIS activities.
  • Interface with Accounting, Human Resources (including total rewards and benefits), IT, and 3rd party vendors to take care of the needs of the Payroll department.
  • Evaluate, analyze, bring data/facts and people together, make and deliver strategic solutions that ensure accurate, timely production of paychecks while minimizing risks to the organization. This includes overall payroll for both hourly and salaried team members, including union and non-union.
  • Take part in critical union related activities such as understanding the finite details of collective bargaining agreements, onboarding new unions, tailoring the Payroll systems each time the contract changes to ensure accuracy with union agreements, and producing union reporting.
  • Identify Information Technology needs including modifications to the current system as well as vetting new packages to gain increased functionality. Take direct in implementing new technologies for the organization while minimizing effects on production.
  • Manages relationships for payroll processing, payroll tax filings, garnishments/child supports, unemployment claim management, and verification of employment.
  • Function as Subject Matter Expert in multistate payroll and payroll taxes.
  • Maintain up to date knowledge of all payrolls related taxes and regulations. Take necessary measures to ensure compliance. Support audit activities.
