- High school diploma.
- Minimum of six years' experience of actual work in the trade including apprentice or vocational training.
- Ability to read blueprints and interpret diagrams.
- Skilled in the maintenance and use of tools, equipment and materials of the carpentry trade.
- Must possess a valid Pennsylvania driver's license.
- Construct and repair structural woodwork such as framing walls, floors and ceilings
- Repair and install doors and windows and associated hardware, install and repair counters, cabinets, benches, partitions, floors, doors, building framework, and partitions
- Install glass and glaze windows and doors.
- Perform masonry work and repairs and concrete work.
- Perform minor roof repairs such as repairing flashing.
- Install and repair window shades, mini-blinds, curtain rods, coat hooks, etc.
- Perform work to assist other trades.
- May perform or assist in performance of any of the following: preparation of cost estimates, preparation of material orders, maintenance of records and preparation of reports.
- Because of necessary fluctuations or workloads in skill area, an incumbent in this class may be required, on an occasional basis and according to need, to perform duties outside this trade area at a level of skill the same as or lower than required by his ordinary assignment.
