Applies measures, sampling methods, testing methodology and other procedures to ensure that quality standards are met. Prepares reports and recommends improvements. Collaborates with suppliers and ensures effective corrective actions are implemented when needed and contributes to supplier quality improvement programsThis role in summarySupplier performance & quality management for Asia direct material & IPO Supply base. Dealing with quality issues for EPI & NPI projects. Delivering PIQ (APQP) and PPAP according to the WPD process . Problem solving for escalated quality issues & working cohesively with Supplier & global SQ&D team. Drive suppliers to improve customer satisfaction & to reduce component and product failure. Products include refrigeration , Laundry & commodities like Mechanical( Casting, Plastic, Rubber, packaging, stamping,) & Steel (Stainless, carbon, CFM)Your responsibilities will includeWork with suppliers & Commodity Quality leads to ensure flawless new product launchesEPI /NPI Project management (APQP/PIQ), ensure external buy part development process meet project schedule & quality requirements.Identify supplier improvement and risk mitigation opportunities at key supplier sites and manage these improvement activities.Drive team work for supplier performance improvement plans and interface with internal and external partners to collaboratively pursue solutions and closure of action plans.Analysis of the quality performance & capability of Suppliers , Drive 8D & support line continuityDefinition of actions to enhance supplier’s performance.Visit suppliers to perform process characterization & drive focus supplier improvement.To review supplier’s progress on the qualification of new parts using APQP / FMEA / MSA / SPC / PPAP and Run@RateCritical quality issues impacting product performance in the field or at one of Whirlpool’s manufacturing divisions.Work with CFT including suppliers on new projects. Deliver PIQ (Purchase item qualification) & PPAP according to project schedule. Work with 3rd party to conduct the early production containment, to perform NPI inspection.Witness the significant sample building for NPIs during product launch, solve the quality issues with a solid action plan, verify and validate the efficiency of action plans, to ensure products comply with Whirlpool’s quality, performance, reliability and other requirements.Work with a global quality team, and lead certain strategic projectsManage information on supplier’s quality performance metrics in the field & at Whirlpool’s manufacturing divisions (SIR, PPM, CAL)Champion Critical Parameters Management (CPM) with suppliers identified in your commodity space.Conduct risk & capability assessment to assign appropriate actions and tools for supplier development. Perform technical assessments at supplier’s facilities.Conduct Quality System Audits on new suppliers & process audit (GTCA/GSQA)Use Supplier performance data to support commodity quality strategyDrive a quality culture aligned to Zero Defect with suppliers & process partners of the commodity space.Supplier training on Whirlpool process & systems ( GB ,QC Tools, GSQRR, PIQ)Minimum requirementsEDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS & CERTIFICATIONSBachelor Degree or above in engineering (Mechanical)Certified Six sigma Green/ black belt is preferred.
