We strive to have superior relationships with our customers, employees, vendors and communities in which we operate.General SummaryThe Paving Foreman supervises and works alongside a crew of employees and occasionally subcontractors when needed to assist in the installation and construction of paving projects. The individual must have knowledge, understanding and the ability to operate as needed an Asphalt Paver, Screed, Roller, Luteman, Asphalt Distributor Driver/Operator (CDL License Required with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements). Asphalt Service Truck Driver ( CDL License Required with Hazmat and Tanker Endorsements) The incumbent will supervise work through the planning and scheduling of work and the review and approval of tasks. The individual will practice absolute confidentiality. Good judgment and common sense is required in all duties and any other tasks as assigned. Normal work hours are the day or night shift eight (8) to fourteen (14) hours Monday through Friday. There may be weekend work depending on the contract. Minimal overnight travel (up to 10%) as required.Essential Duties and Responsibilities * Trains, develops, and monitors the safety practices (including PPE) of own employees through regularly scheduled safety meetings, one on one development, reminders and disciplinary action, if necessary
- Follows all requirements listed in the Supervisor Safety Procedure Manual (SSPM) including, but not limited to, safety training, emergency procedures, accident reporting and investigation and employee observations.
- Ensures compliance of production staff with all policies and procedures, OSHA, MSHA, and NCDOT guidelines.
- Maintains a clean and orderly work area and meets other housekeeping needs as required by Sunrock, MSHA 30 CFR 56.20003, and OSHA 29 CFR 1910.22 and ensures that all employees reporting to you do the same.
- Reads and follows plans, material lists, and guidelines and applies necessary timelines.
- Fulfills all regular and advanced installation/construction duties including project layout and completes required paperwork in a timely manner.
- Organizes, supervises, leads, and trains employees to complete projects within established guidelines and timeframe.
- Submits crewmember’s timesheets to payroll by required deadline.
- Participates in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals.
- Provides leadership to others through example and sharing of knowledge/skill.
- Enforces all client required safety policies and procedures.
- Complies with all company policies and procedures and safety requirements including crewmember discipline and documentation.
- Attends meetings as required.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
- Asphalt Roadway Level I Certification Preferred
- Storm water Supervisor Level II Certification Preferred
- Lane Closure Certification Preferred
- Current North Carolina Driver’s License
