Learn more about us at .Job Description:Worcester State University, Department of Earth, Environment and Physics, invites applications for a full time temporary position in Geography at the Assistant Professor level beginning in Fall 2024. We seek a broadly trained human geographer with expertise in geospatial information science (GIS). Teaching responsibilities include introductory human geography, introductory GIS, and sophomore geography seminar.Applicants should demonstrate a potential for excellence in undergraduate teaching and mentoring, active engagement in research and scholarship and a commitment to public higher education. The successful candidate will contribute to a small, dynamic program with strengths in climate science and global environmental change. The department currently has about 100 majors. We offer BS degrees in Geography and in Environmental Science and minors in Geography, Environmental Science, Geospatial Information Sciences, Physics, and Astronomy.Requirements:Required Qualifications:
- Master's degree in geography or related field required
- Ph.D. strongly preferred College/university-level teaching experience strongly preferred
- Candidates with experience teaching introductory human geography and GIS are especially encouraged to apply.
