  • Provide construction management oversight, including strengthening client relationships and managing project scope, schedule, budget, costs, deliverables and change orders for various construction and rehabilitation project
  • Coordinate and direct the work of trade contractors.
  • Monitor project progress and quality
  • Review RFIs, submittals and change orders
  • Participate in project meetings and planning sessions
  • Provide communication channels, such as owner reviews, to ensure requirements are being met
  • Mitigate risk to both Nexus and the client organization
  • Monitor related issues such as safety, authorizations, and third party coordination
  • Provide select project management support, expertise, and documentation to Nexus as needed, including bids, project schedules, cost reports, and cash flow predictions
  • Coordinate contractor resources and issue resolution with design firms 30% Client Relations
  • Serve as a liaison for client, staff and construction management teams
  • Address problems and challenges with urgency; collaborate with team Nexus as needed
  • Apply learning's to improve communications and processes going forward 20% Supervision and Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day coaching, feedback and direction for effective performance of project team
  • Identify and support development opportunities for growth and improvement of team

  • Associates or bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Architecture or equivalent experience
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in the building systems / operations field
  • Strong understanding of scheduling and risk management
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Able to translate technical jargon and project related information to meet client needs
  • Demonstrated success in problem solving and delivering innovative solutions.
  • Proven ability to operate with integrity and empathy, and build lasting trust-based relationships
  • Self-directed and highly organized in approach to work
  • Able to hold self and others accountable to drive projects forward
  • Strong computer skills with competency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Adobe
  • Experience reading and interpreting blueprints and drawings
  • Demonstrated knowledge of codes and contract law
  • General accounting knowledge and capacity
  • A 10-year-old Design/Build Construction Services firm
  • They have 3 offices total, in Minneapolis, Milwaukee and Madison - all in the heart of the downtown in very cool historical buildings with new, modern interiors (very modernized workspace)
  • My client is not a GC, but it provides an array of construction services to clients from the Design/Build stage through Development for its large, consistent clientele
  • Their specialty is large PK - K12 Education projects across MN and Wisconsin
  • The company currently sits at 60 people
