- Develop, implement, and enforce safety policies and procedures in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular safety inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety standards.
- Provide safety training to employees, including new hires and ongoing refresher courses.
- Investigate accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implement corrective actions to prevent future occurrences.
- Collaborate with department managers to address safety concerns and implement best practices.
- Maintain safety records and reports as required by regulatory agencies.
- Stay updated on industry best practices and regulatory changes related to safety.
- Lead safety committee meetings and initiatives to promote a culture of safety awareness among employees.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies during safety inspections and audits.
- Assist in emergency response planning and drills.
- Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, with a strong understanding of manufacturing processes and safety requirements.
- Proven experience developing and implementing safety programs and procedures.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively train and engage employees at all levels of the organization.
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate incidents and implement effective corrective actions.
- Knowledge of local, state, and federal safety regulations.
- Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) certification preferred but not required.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Relevant work experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.
