- Prospect accounts in targeted markets, pursue leads and follow through to successfully win opportunities, growing Hyperion market share
- Sustain and grow business in current Hyperion customer accounts
- Direct sales activities in a wide geographical area, acting as the preferred link between the customer and Hyperion: preparation and follow up of sales calls, offer presentation, maintain and develop key relationships
- Build rapport and trust with customers through phone calls, emails, online meetings, and in-person site visits
- Identify and develop new opportunities for Hyperion carbide rods, understanding customer materials needs, offer winning solutions utilizing value selling techniques and process
- Develop account plans; achieve sales targets by executing the plans
- Work closely with other functions of the Hyperion organization, including Segment Managers, Product Managers, Sales Operations Specialists, and Customer Service Representatives
- Utilize Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system effectively to maintain and track contacts and opportunities
- Obtain and evaluate all relevant information to process and resolve customer inquiries and issues
- Follow-up on qualified leads from the Marketing team and Inside Sales to assess sales opportunities
- Provide input on sales forecasts, funnel management, and other important commercial processes
- Serve as a liaison between Hyperion Research & Development and customers while developing and testing new products
- Provide competitor information, market intelligence and technology trends in industry specific to relevant areas of application
- BA or BS Degree, Engineering or Business major a plus
- Have experience in technical sales in a B2B industrial setting
- Strong written and spoken English
- Or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Highly customer oriented and can communicate effectively with all levels in a domestic or international organization
- Strong personal drive with a well-developed ability to prioritize, follow-up and conclude deals
- Proven track record of setting aggressive targets and meeting business goals
- Outstanding communication (written and verbal), interpersonal, and organizational skills
- Recognize that cultivating effective partnerships with our customers and delivering solutions that meet their current and future demands is essential to continued growth and success
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while advancing the critical few priorities
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and statistical analysis software
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, SalesForce, or similar CRM system a plus
- Travel 60-80% of the time, mostly domestic with some international
