Summary of JobThis position is responsible for the setup of the ball diamond and/or basketball court. Position is also responsible for accurate scoring of the games assigned to.Responsibilities
  • Mark field and put out bases, or any equipment need for the game
  • Keep neat and accurate score as outlined on score sheet.
  • Put away all equipment at the end of each assigned evening.
  • Performs other duties as required.
  • Acts as an impartial observer at all times.
  • Turns score sheet into the department nightly.
  • Reports all equipment needs or field problems to supervisors.
QualificationsEducation: Knowledge of the game of softball or basketballExperience: No experience requirementsCertifications/Licenses: No certification/licenses requirementsOther Requirements: Must be at least 15 years of age.Knowledge, Skills, & AbilitiesThis position must possess the ability to understand and apply mathematic concepts; make general arithmetic computations accurately and with reasonable speed; understand and work a scoreboard with a mechanical or wireless remote; the ability to focus attention on tasks, which may be routine, or repetitive, without losing concentration or becoming distracted by external activities; and the ability to adapt to interruptions or equipment failures. This position must be have the ability to maintain constant observation of an assigned area and note any sign of impending trouble that may escalate into a dangerous situation and immediately advise supervisor of the same; work under minimal direct supervision; understand and follow written and oral instructions and procedures; maintains effective working relationships with other employees and the public; communicates effectively with patrons and staff; and has the ability to read and interpret policy manuals established for work environment.The City anticipates filling these positions pending Committee approval and funding.THE CITY OF MANITOWOC PARTICIPATES IN E-VERIFY.
