Te whiwhinga mahi | The OpportunityThe Tamariki/Mokopuna/Whānau Voice and Community Engagement role (TMWCV) will develop, implement, and lead Starship’s tamaAriki, mokopuna and whānau community engagement programme (Te Oro). The role will provide guidance within Starship Child Health to ensure that mokopuna, whānau and community voices are central to service development, quality improvement, research, and innovation. The role will develop and foster strong relationships with whānau and community, and ensure their voices are heard authentically. The role will also mentor and educate clinicians on how to safely engage to co-design service improvements.The Te Oro programme will meet Starship’s responsibilities and obligations under Te Tiriti o Waitangi and enact the Starship . The TMWCV position will work closely with TamaAriki Ora and the wider Māori Health Team to ensure alignment and collaboration on key elements of the programme to collectively address child health inequities. This programme of work will directly support our encouraging the system to be mokopuna, whānau focused and whānau led. As an experienced community and whānau voice specialist, you will have:· Previous experience working in a consumer role within a health and disability service, where networking and engaging with whānau and stakeholders is a key component of the work.· Understanding of the health equity issues facing Māori.· Understanding of quality improvement and safety issues facing mokopuna, whānau and communities.· Knowledge and understanding of the complexities around mokopuna, whānau and community experiences of the health and disability system.· Well-developed organisational skills and ability to meet deadlines whilst preserving the highest level of accuracy and confidentiality.· An understanding of your Kawa and Tikanga· A commitment to building an understanding of Te Reo, although fluency in Te Reo would be an advantage.· Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its role in the quality and safety of the health system.Ko wai mātou | Our OrganisationWe are Te Whatu Ora Te Toka Tumai Auckland.
