Job Description:Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (Pediatrics)This Advanced Practice Provider (APP) will provide care to pediatric patients at The Children's Justice Center located in Tooele, Utah. The Center is a home-like facility serving children who may have been physically or sexually abused. The center is designed to help children feel safe and comfortable during times of potentially high stress. The atmosphere is child-friendly, with interview rooms designed with children in mind. Children visit the center while investigators and a medical team meet with them and their parents.The role of the APP is to conduct medical examinations, assessments, and partner with the child and family care team to ensure the well-being of the child.This position offers flexible scheduling and will be on an as-needed basis. It is anticipated that the APP will provide care an average of 4 hours per week, though hours may be variable to meet patient care needs.Prior pediatric clinical experience is highly preferred.Job EssentialsAdvanced Practice Providers (APPs) are accountable for the provision of patient care at the top of licensure, within their scope of practice. Licensed, credentialed and privileged to perform such duties as:
  • Maintenance and promotion of health and prevention of disease;
  • Assessment, diagnosis, treatment, correction, and consultation;
  • Procedures as outlined by specialty, and referral for health problems;
  • Education of the patient, patient's family, clinical staff, and others;
  • Prescription or administration of prescription drugs or devices in accordance with a consultation and referral plan;
  • Consultation with other healthcare providers;
  • Appropriate and timely documentation of clinical care;
  • Continually learning and developing for optimal patient care and outcomes.
Advanced Practice Providers may also participate in research, utilize evidence-based practice to improve quality patient care, protocol development, care process model development, and best practice standards for assigned patient population throughout our organization.Minimum QualificationsCurrent state license as an Advance Practice Registered Nurse (APRN) or Physician Assistant (PA).- and -Certification as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant.- and -Eligible for State Controlled Substance License II through V.- and -Eligible for Federal DEA Certificate II through V.- and -BLS Certification for Healthcare Providers.- and -Other certification as required (e.g. ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NRP).Physical Requirements:Anticipated job posting close date: 05/30/2024Location: Childrens Justice Center-TooeleWork City: TooeleWork State: UtahScheduled Weekly Hours: 4The hourly range for this position is listed below.
