Job Description:***NOTE: This is a US based remote position; The position can be based anywhere in the United States. CRS' diversified livelihoods approach is implemented through climate-responsive and nutrition-sensitive systems and lies on the foundations of social cohesion for collective action and gender equity and social inclusion (GESI).This short-term summer hire position seeks a current graduate student or recent graduate interested in obtaining work experience that aligns with his/her studies in international development, management or policy, agriculture, gender studies, sociology, nutrition or other related field and/or to fulfill requirements for an academic course or degree.Learning Components:Deepened understanding of gender-sensitive and nutrition-sensitive agriculture-related programming.Primary Function:Contribute to the advancement of CRS' Agriculture and Livelihoods Theory of Change: (1) documenting and sharing learning on CRS' various gender-sensitive and nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions across the globe and (2) creating job-aids and other tools that support the roll out of gender-sensitive and nutrition-sensitive agriculture interventions and (3) other functions that support the team's efforts.Key Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to knowledge management and learning by collecting and synthesizing program information and results related to CRS Nutrition-sensitive agriculture programming that will support CRS proposal development and project designs. Work closely with Regional Technical Advisers (RTAs) for agriculture and nutrition and CRS Country Program staff to identify relevant program documents, data, and insights.
  • Provide support in production of materials and resources for online distribution within and outside of CRS such as CRS's Gender-Responsive Agriculture Extension Guidance document.
  • Support the design and organization of an internal virtual learning and sharing meeting on school garden with CRS staff of McGovern Dole Projects

Qualifications:Basic Qualifications
  • Recent college graduate or Master's degree candidate in international development, management or policy studies, agriculture, nutrition, gender studies, social sciences, social work or related field.
  • Good knowledge of concepts, approaches, and best practices in the field of international development. Gender integration and/or nutrition-sensitive agriculture programming knowledge desired.
  • Strong computer skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point, SharePoint and web-based communications platforms (Teams).
  • Strong English writing, reading and communication skills.
  • Strong research and analytical skills.
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to juggle multiple tasks.
  • Ability to work independently when provided with clear directions and with a team.
  • Ability to coordinate and collaborate with stakeholders across CRS (at headquarters, regional and country program levels).
  • Proactive, resourceful and results-oriented.
  • Two years related-work experience desired, but not required.
  • Spanish or French language skills desired, but not required.
Physical Requirements/Environment:The intern shall work outside the CRS office, working remotely from his/her home or school campus. No travel is planned, whether overseas or domestic.
