Maintenance Electrician - 2nd Shift

- Repairs, installs, replaces and tests electrical circuits, equipment and appliances.
- Uses hand tools and testing instruments.
- Inspects and tests electrical equipment, lighting, signal, communication and power circuits.
- Isolates defects in wiring, switches, motors and other electrical equipment using testing instruments such as ammeter, ohmmeter, voltmeter or testing lamp.
- Replace faulty switches, sockets and other elements of electrical systems.
- Dismantle electrical machinery and replace defective electrical or mechanical parts such as gears, brushes and armatures.
- Mount motors, transformers and lighting fixtures into position and completes circuits according to diagram specifications.
- Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures.
- Inspects completed work for conformance with requirements of local building and safety codes. Estimates time and materials cost on electrical projects.
- Requisitions new electrical supplies and equipment.
- 2+ years of experience position or specialization
- Ability to apply advanced skills and may develop advanced skills using tools and equipment appropriate for the position or specialization
- Adapts procedures, processes, tools, equipment and techniques to accomplish the requirements of the position
- Duties and tasks reflect substantial variety and complexity
- Assignments are broad in nature and usually require originality and ingenuity
- May serve as a resource to others in the resolution of complex problems and issues
- Works under the general supervision of the Maintenance Supervisor
- Able to work in a noisy, wet and cold environment of approximately 32 to 36 degrees Fahrenheit
- Able to read and understand all electrical testing instruments
- Able to read and understand blueprints and electrical schematics and logic diagrams
- Employee must be able to read and understand and follow all electrical cautions markings, including NFPA arc flash warnings
- The employee is required to stand on cement, reach with hands and arms and stoop over 2/3 of the time
- The employee is required to lift up to 75 pounds
- Ability to use a multi-meter and other measurement instruments.
- Ability to troubleshoot and/or modify PLC controls, such as Allen-Bradley, GE Fanuc
- Fabricate and modify parts using shop equipment; utilizing sanitary welding equipment procedures
- Ability to demonstrate proficient fabrication and welding systems and skills
- Operate our CMMS system and demonstrate 100% functionality in order to complete work orders as well as log corrective maintenance issues in the system
- Forklift certified
- Use computer programs, such as Word and Excel
