- The responsibility of managing the Database Services Operations teams in areas of standards, projects, level 3 support, issue triaging and resolution, processes, and overall DBA work.

- Experience in a senior DBA position exclusively working with MS SQL Server. Other database technologies will be considered an asset.
- People lead or management experience, ideally of a medium sized team.
- Experience of installation, configuration and upgrading of MS SQL server software and products of SQL 2016 and above.
- Experience of installation & configuration of SQL Clustering on Windows Clusters.
- Cloud IaaS and PaaS knowledge or Hands-on experience in AWS / Azure
- Understanding of enterprise application technology architecture, components, databases, networking, and infrastructure.
- Technical knowledge of Windows-based platforms
- Knowledge of Audit, Security and Encryption at rest
- Disaster Recovery and Business continuity tooling and processes knowledge
- Experience of working on complex problems that require conceptualizing & reasoning.
- Provide Database support by executing production database-related tasks, including requests to store data, fix data error, manage disk space and storage, monitor database performance, develop scripts and provision of technical support to the end user.
- Ensure stability of application database environments in areas of control
- Accountable to direct, supervise and evaluate work for their team to guarantee that the team meets their goals and deliverables in accordance with agreements and SLAs without compromising production services. As the direct supervisor of Database Administrators, the manager is required to conduct performance evaluations and career development discussions.
- Be accountable for application availability, reliability and stability, documenting root cause study of all in-scope incidents along with recommended corrective action plans.
- Be a consultant to contribute in development of solutions, working closely with project teams, providing expert guidance and advice concerning application database matters.
- Be responsible for the management of team to modernize DB environments and ensure alignment with server and DB end of life / end of support roadmaps.
- Participate in process improvement initiatives including; identifying opportunities for automation and efficiencies, reducing cost where possible, and for systems and tools enhancements and automation to aid operational efficiencies as well as consolidation and standardization across the MMC Tech organization.
- Supervision of team, keeping them motivated and inspired while providing top class service, meeting or surpassing SLAs
- Accountable for team compliance with application engineering security and audit controls
- Proactively respond to security requirements and changes, applying them to the systems within area of control
- Address vulnerabilities identified within area of control and identify remedial actions to be taken.
- Key contributor for audit reviews and lead change implementer for audit requirements and changes, collaborating with various business and application teams as necessary.
- Participate in the execution of disaster recovery tests, including planning and resource allocations as required.
