- Utilize diagnostic tools and equipment to accurately diagnose problems and determine the best course of action for repairs.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, such as oil changes, tire rotations, and filter replacements.
- Repair or replace faulty components, including engines, transmissions, brakes, suspension systems, and electrical systems.
- Test-drive vehicles to verify repairs and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Provide accurate estimates of repair costs and timelines to customers.
- Maintain detailed records of repairs, parts used, and labor hours for billing purposes.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest automotive technologies and advancements through ongoing training and professional development.
- Adhere to safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
- Collaborate with other team members to ensure efficient workflow and exceptional customer service.
- ASE certification in one or more areas such as Engine Repair, Brakes, Suspension and Steering, Electrical Systems, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an automotive technician or mechanic.
- Strong knowledge of automotive systems and components.
- Proficiency in using diagnostic tools and equipment.
- Ability to accurately diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues.
- Solid understanding of repair techniques and procedures.
- Excellent problem-solving and critical-thinking skills.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality workmanship.
- Ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
- Good communication skills to explain complex technical information to customers.
- Physical stamina and dexterity to handle physical demands of the job, including lifting heavy objects and working in various positions.
