Shea Co., Inc. 401(k) plan after completion of 30 days of service.POSITION OVERVIEW:The Gate Host monitors the gate entry, ensuring that all residents and guests are welcomed to the community and directed to the appropriate destination. This position reports to the Gate Host Supervisor.KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Act as a “Goodwill Ambassador” to welcome all visitors approaching the gate using the community assigned script, including residents and guests, potential purchasers, construction personnel, golfers and restaurant guests, and delivery services.
  • Lock and unlock the community Association facilities daily; set alarms and on-call for after-hours alarm calls.
  • Provide gate system card information and construction passes; complete required entry system documentation; offer direction to visitors stopping at the gate to assure they enjoy their time at the community.
  • Provide instruction for new owners on gate system operations.
  • Facilitate vacation watch parameters, assist homeowners with entry gate operations, monitor gate system for maintenance related issues, and patrol the community association facilities each evening.
  • Control traffic at entry gates to prevent accidents and confusion.
  • Monitor delivery services and suspicious vehicles; communicate with homeowner and construction personnel to confirm authorization for entry.
  • Monitor gates for maintenance related issues and report issues to a supervisor.
  • Other duties and responsibilities may be assigned.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS / QUALIFICATIONS / SKILLS:
  • High School diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • One to three years’ experience working in a customer service setting, dealing with public patrons and members preferred.
  • Computer literate, with a basic understanding of the Internet, email, and entering work time.
  • Ability to communicate positively and effectively with team members and supervisors about job tasks and responsibilities.
  • Desire to contribute to a productive work environment by maintaining a positive attitude with team members and the public.
  • Must be self-motivated, follow direction, and able to work independently with little supervision.
  • Must demonstrate initiative, with an ability to think, work, solve practical problems, and make independent decisions based on sound judgment.
  • Must have good time management, organization, and follow-up skills.
  • Must be able to consistently achieve high work standards; attention to detail, accuracy and timeliness is expected.
  • Must be able to pay attention to multiple details and be comfortable working in a fast-paced environment where continuous improvement is expected.
  • This position requires a flexible schedule to include evenings and weekends.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:This position operates in both an indoor and outdoor environment with exposure to weather conditions, and occasionally native wildlife, when outdoors on the facility grounds. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.PHYSICAL DEMANDS:The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand and walk (often for most of a work shift), use hands to fingers, handle or feel, bend, and reach with hands and arms. The position requires the ability to lift and/or push or pull items weighing up to 10 pounds.
