  • Designing electrical systems and components for engineering projects

  • Collaborating with engineers and technicians to develop electrical designs that meet project requirements
  • Selecting appropriate materials, equipment, and components for electrical systems
  • Performing calculations and simulations to ensure the efficiency and reliability of electrical designs
  • Conducting feasibility studies and cost analysis for electrical design proposals
  • Preparing technical documentation, including specifications, reports, and manuals
  • Reviewing and interpreting technical drawings, specifications, and regulations
  • Ensuring compliance with industry standards and safety regulations
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to resolve any design issues or challenges
  • Providing technical support and guidance during the implementation and testing of electrical systems
  • Keeping up-to-date with advancements in electrical design technologies and industry trends
Required Qualifications
  • A minimum of 5 years of proven experience as an Electrical Designer or a similar role
  • Proficiency in computer-aided design (CAD) software and other relevant electrical design tools
  • Strong knowledge of electrical engineering principles and practises
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail and accuracy in design work
  • Ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with cross-functional teams
  • Good time management and organisational skills
Education
  • A bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or a related field
Experience
  • 5 years of experience in electrical design, preferably in the engineering or military and defence industry
Knowledge and Skills
  • In-depth understanding of electrical systems, circuits, and components
  • Familiarity with relevant industry standards and regulations
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications
  • Proficiency in using electrical design software and tools
  • Knowledge of cost estimation and feasibility analysis
  • Strong technical writing and documentation skills
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Professional certifications in electrical design or engineering
  • Experience with defence-specific electrical design projects
  • A degree or equivalent engineering experience
