Job Description:OverviewAssist with a cement project in Arizona.
ResponsibilitiesEssential Functions:
  • With readily available technical guidance, keep plant machinery and mechanical equipment in good repair
  • Respond in a timely manner to work orders and management requests
  • Examine a variety of machines to diagnose trouble and recommend repair
  • Dismantle machines, replace defective parts, reassemble machines and make necessary adjustments to ensure efficient operation
  • Assist more experienced maintenance mechanics as assigned
  • Follow all safety regulations and company policies regarding safety
  • Work around a wide variety of equipment, chemicals and machinery; must be aware of safety hazards at all times
  • Perform any and all other job related tasks as assigned
Safety
  • Hold valid first aid and supervisor training certificates.
  • Review and approve SWPs for assigned projects.
  • Conduct and record regular safety inspections on equipment.
  • Promptly and accurately complete investigations and reports on all near misses and all personal injury or property damage accidents.
  • Set a personal example of safe behavior.
QUALIFICATIONSEDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
  • High School Diploma or GED and 6 years’ experience in construction field work or construction trade training and 5 years’ experience in construction work.
LANGUAGE, MATH AND COMPUTER SKILLS
  • Ability to effectively write and communicate through email and written letter correspondence.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in client meetings and crew meetings.
  • Basic computer skills needed for spreadsheet, word processing and email correspondence.
QualificationsPHYSICAL DEMANDS
  • Ability to perform light manual labor for short periods outdoors and in inclement weather.
  • Ability to climb ladders, operate a hand and foot controls, and use hand tools.
  • Ability to sit; use hands to finger, handle or feel; and talk or hear.
  • Ability to reach with hands and arms.
  • Ability to stand; walk; and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and/or move up to 45 pounds unassisted, team lift up to 100 pounds.
  • Ability to sit and stand as needed.
  • Specific vision abilities required for this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
