Underwriter I Western Alliance Bank Westlake Village, CA Permanent Full-time 15 days ago Job Title: Underwriter ILocation: CA - Westlake VillageWhat you'll do: AmeriHome Mortgage is seeking a Mortgage Underwriter I who will perform a limited review of Conventional (Conforming and Conforming-High Balance) and Government (FHA, VA, and USDA) loans for specific issues such as Red Flags, property flip, insurability, income/asset doc review, DTI, etc. Additionally, Mortgage Underwriter I will be responsible for reviewing and clearing underwriting conditions on Conventional and Government loans in compliance with current guidelines and overlays.What we are looking for:What you will do:Work in the Limited Review and Conditions pipelines on a daily basis by completing sufficient Underwriting Reviews, Red Flags, property flip, insurability, income/asset doc review, and ConditionReviews, within defined turn timesIdentify any document deficiencies, add applicable conditions, and request additional information and/or documentation from Clients as neededContact clients to provide updates and clarification on outstanding conditions and deficiencies identified on loans per established processAssist other Department personnel in interpreting underwriting guidelines and updating underwriting status and conditions to Correspondent ClientsPerform independent research of guidelines and overlays while reviewing loansOther duties as assignedWhat you will need:3+ years mortgage industry experience, with substantial processing/loan review experience.Ability to communicate effectively and professionallyBasic proficiency in Microsoft Office products (Excel, Word, etc.)Loan quality and risk managementKnowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, VA, and USDA guidelines.Excellent written and verbal communication skillsGood customer/client service skillsStrong prioritization and time management skillsCompensation: Hourly range for new hires is generally $66,149.00 - $81,713.00 for Westlake Village, CA.
