- Training Specialist works either one-on-one or with a group of developmentally disabled individuals as a role model, mentor and/or coach. Facilitates the attainment of the individual’s vocational potential. Job locations can vary throughout Erie County
- Instructs and assists individuals in developing social skills, work skills and work habits in a community-based setting. Works with instructors to ensure all documentation for trainings are accurate.
- Bachelor’s Degree PLUS one year of full-time experience in a work setting training others. One year of full-time direct service experience with developmentally disabled individuals is preferred.
- Must be Multi-Media First Aid Certified or receive certification within ninety (90) days from the date of hire.
- Must have a valid NYS Driver’s license, approved driving record and reliable transportation to all parts of greater Erie County area.
- Instructs and assists individuals in developing social skills, work skills and work habits in a community-based setting.
- Works with instructors to ensure all documentation for training is accurate.
- Works with individuals as needed, to complete tasks and provide a positive work model.
- Assists with developing new community partnerships for the Specialized Workforce Training Center
- Assists individuals in the process of integrating into the work force through utilizing natural support and assisting in active social participation with co-workers in both on and off-site activities.
- Participates in case conferences, in-service training and case consultations with individual’s Program Manager as needed.
- Acts as liaison between the Specialized Workforce Training Center at The Arc Erie County New York, and potential new community partner businesses, as directed by Supervisor.
- Make recommendations (job carving) to the employer and/or supervisor in adapting job duties to the abilities of the individual as needed to insure individual’s employment.
- Maintains service, statistical, and administrative records including hours, rate of pay and necessary data to complete billing.
- Completes daily notes, reflecting service provided and individual response to the service as required by regulation.
- Complete all required training and maintain training certifications based on funding source regulations.
- Completes payroll of individuals in assigned paid community experiences.
- Other duties as assigned.
