- Performing a variety of complex digital I&C design engineering activities.
- Preparing Engineering Change Packages (ECP) to replace/upgrade obsolete analog-based I&C systems with modern computer-based I&C systems and components.
- Performing engineering calculations and preparing design studies, project scopes, and engineering estimates.
- Performing review of Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) digital platform hardware and software technical documentation for specified applications.
- Provide estimates to Project Management to support budget and schedule development.
- Participating in project meetings, working interactively with colleagues and clients to develop strong relationships.
- Planning and implementing the timely execution of assigned engineering activities.
- Proficiency in the application and use of the regulatory requirements, industry codes, and standards that are unique to digital I&C systems.
- Perform site walkdowns as needed to identify design solutions.
- Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or similarl
- Minimum of 3 years of I&C engineering experience.
- Experience supporting modifications of Nuclear Power Plants preferred.
- Knowledge of digital hardware and software components commonly used in digital I&C system platforms.
- Experience in the design, installation, and testing of large scale (complete systems) digital control and computer monitoring system upgrades at power plants. Types of upgrades include replacement of Turbine/Generator Control Systems with DCS platforms, process computer, and cybersecurity systems.
- Direct involvement in the entire digital upgrade life cycle including feasibility studies, procurement specifications, design change packages, FAT/SAT test procedure development, installation, and testing.
- Working knowledge of the application of current regulatory and industry digital upgrade standards.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to be an individual contributor and work effectively in a team environment.
- Strong analytical skills and problem identification/resolution
- Must be able to access/traverse client sites to conduct walkdowns.
- Ability to travel between 15-25% of the time; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs
