Factors that may be used to determine your actual rate of pay include your specific skills, years of experience, and other factors.BENEFITS INFORMATION:For information on Sysco’s Benefits, please visit https://SyscoBenefits.comSUMMARYSupervise technicians engaged in maintaining the efficient operation of the ammonia refrigeration system, fire protection systems, HVAC systems, warehouse and dock equipment, material handling equipment, and storage racking; and the upkeep of the building components and grounds to promote safe, efficient, and optimal utilization of our facilities, equipment, and personnel. Responsible for the sanitation and cleanliness of the facility, ensuring food safety compliance and regulatory requirements are met within a meat processing manufacturer.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Monitor preventive maintenance logs and checklists as required/scheduled.
- Schedule and monitor the work of outside contractors as needed.
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies.
- Inspect completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards.
- Responsible for the appearance, maintenance, and security of warehouse and equipment.
- Maintain ePSM to ensure PSM tasks are scheduled and completed in a timely manner to avoid elapsed tasks.
- Maintain maintenance software to ensure work orders are assigned and completed in a timely manner.
- Establish and adjust work procedures and schedules for sanitation and facilities colleagues to meet company needs. Coordinate the services of any cleaning contractors.
- Provide input for the preparation of the department budget for responsible areas and maintain department expenditures to adhere to approved budgetary plans.
- Foster an environment that encourages colleague involvement, commits to quality of work from self and others, and provides leadership for the mutual benefit of the Company, customers, and colleagues.
- Monitor colleagues’ work and perform colleague evaluations on an ongoing basis to coach them on expectations, reward above-average performance, and identify and coach poor performance levels.
- Observe and enforce all safety rules to eliminate accidents and injuries.
- Report any unfixable/unsafe issues to the supervisor.
- Enforce lock-out/tag-out procedures as required.
- Plan and manage appropriate daily staffing levels to effectively align labor resources with operational needs.
- Assist in the performance of maintenance activities including corrective and preventative maintenance as staffing or workload requires.
- Comply with all applicable State/Federal laws, regulations, and policies (i.e., OSHA, HACCP, etc.).
- A high school diploma or General Education Degree (GED) is required.
- A bachelor’s Degree from an accredited four-year college or university is preferred, or five years of maintenance-related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Four (4) years of experience in maintenance at the supervisory level.
- Mechanical aptitude, understanding of facilities equipment, and systems.
- Considerable knowledge of ammonia refrigeration systems operations and their maintenance requirements is required.
- Electrical knowledge is required and energy management system knowledge is preferred.
- BILINGUAL SPANISH STRONGLY PREFERRED.
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills with colleagues, peers, and RDC management.
- Must have the ability to plan and organize work on time, analyze, and disseminate numerical data, and follow policies and procedures.
- Must have basic computer knowledge.
- Must have an understanding of PLC (Programmable Logic Controller)
- Must have the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals, and have the ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent.
- Certification on material handling equipment is required, or the ability to become certified.
- Electrical and refrigeration license or certificate preferred.
- The incumbent will be required to complete Ammonia Refrigeration Operator II certification.
