- Bachelor's or master's degree in civil engineering
- Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification required with the intent to obtain a Professional Engineering license within 18 months; preference given to individuals with a PE
- 3+ years of experience in civil or transportation engineering
- A broad knowledge base in aspects of street design, including AASHTO and MUTCD standards, with an understanding of what goes into the development of concept drawings, exhibits, civil details, and a PS&E project submittal
- Experience leading tasks, including coordinating topographic survey, utility, right-of-way, street lighting, traffic signals, and landscape and hardscape layouts
- Interest in multimodal transportation issues, studies, and design, specifically for bicycle, pedestrian, Safe Routes to School, Complete Streets, Vision Zero, and/or transit integration
- Proficiency in one or more of the following: Civil 3D, OpenRoads, Inroads, and/or Geopak
- Excellent task and time management skills
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate across disciplines
- Experience with the Microsoft Office suite of applications
- Experience preparing transportation and local agency permit documents
- Experience with construction management of public agency infrastructure
- Experience with stormwater design and/or using software such as HydroCAD or HydroFlow
- Familiarity working with Northwest Arkansas public transportation agencies and standards
- You have strong leadership skills and enjoy participating in multi-disciplinary teams
