- Learn and be able to support all building systems providing subject matter expertise
- Assist in development and improvement of processes and programs for facilities services thereby increasing reliability of building services and systems
- Schedule and lead preventive maintenance activities on HVAC equipment, plumbing and electrical systems and fire systems
- Assist in managing controls/building automation system
- Performs routine site inspections
- Leads and mentors in safe practices
- Performs Service Requests and other duties as assigned
- Escort, oversee and supervise contractors when performing inspections or repairs as assigned
- Responds to service needs and resolves problems in a timely, safe and professional manner
- Be able to respond to emergency situations that arise such as leaks, power outages, etc.
- When needed, willing to work earlier and later than normal schedule and possibly on weekends
- Demonstrated expert knowledge and competence in plant utility systems including air compressor systems, chiller systems, silo systems, cooling towers, air dryers, and electrical distribution systems.
- Knowledge in industrial plumbing, building mechanical, and facilities maintenance practice is required.
- To be successful this candidate must exhibit initiative, be results focused and display leadership. Must be able to communicate well with fellow staff, tenants and vendors.
- A highly trustworthy with strong ethical integrity is required for this limited supervision position.
- Very strong electrical distribution, control, and troubleshooting skills.
- Experienced in facilities maintenance and repairs for plumbing, mechanical, and electrical systems.
- Experienced in compressor maintenance, HVAC maintenance, chiller maintenance, cooling tower maintenance, silo system maintenance, fire system and fire alarm system maintenance, and card security access systems.
- Experienced with computerized control systems for building HVAC, fire alarms, chillers, compressors, cooling towers and Lift Truck Vehicle Management systems.
- Computer Skills: Ability to use Microsoft Office Suite efficiently and effectively.
- Job involves sitting, standing, walking and lifting for periods of time throughout the day
- Able to pass pre-employment physical / drug screen and ongoing random drug screens
- Must be able to lift between 15 to 40 pounds as needed
- Must be able to work on ladders and roof tops
- When on shop floors, safety glasses and steel toes must be worn at all times and ear plugs in designated areas
- Technical 2 year degree
- Preferred Plant Engineering Degree
