- Filters and/or responds to all customer and representatives inquiries.
- Determines the making /process feasibility of all modified or new products.
- Meets with customers to discuss, refine and ultimately sell the proposed products and offer other product and enhancements/alternatives that would make the overall sale feasible for the Company.
- Meets with the engineering design review team to discuss, refine and ultimately sell the proposed products and offer other product and enhancements/alternatives that would make the overall project/sale feasible for the Company.
- Formulates and creates descriptive line item quotations based on standard unit costs, if applicable, and meets with the engineering management to establish one-time-engineering design hour estimates to meet the requirements of the proposal.
- Meets with customer to negotiate contract price and terms and conditions of sale.
- Creates timeline schedule and final revised detailed quotation once internal and external negotiations are completed.
- Defines all of the product detailed specifications once an order is imminent.
- Meets with the engineering project group to transfer the project once a sale is complete.
- Creates quotes, manages and coordinates customer's quotes and orders.
- Meets regularly with the engineering project group to make sure the contracted specifications are being met, the schedules are being maintained and that the designs do not deviate from what was sold and agreed upon with the customer.
- Facilitates, manages or drives to completion with the appropriate internal departments special product orders.
- Train and assist other Application Engineers.
- Bid preparation
- Customer interface regarding technical issues, quality and scheduling
- Liaison between customer and internal resources
- Perform technical reviews of request for proposals (1-50 pages in length)
- Obtain cost estimates
- Generate commercial and technical proposals
- Work directly with management from manufacturing, purchasing, quality, and engineering to determine timelines.
- Create project reports for management review.
- Provide training and technical presentations for internal and external salespeople.
- Assist in preparation of marketing and technical documents.
- Develop strong internal relationships with Product Managers, Application Engineers and outside sales force.
- Requires education of Bachelor's Degree in an engineering discipline.
- Requires 3-5 years of relevant application and technical sales experience.
- Requires mathematical skills that require the ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide, and to make metric system conversions.
- Must have the ability to read and understand blueprints, electrical schematics, installation manuals, routings and other manufacturing instructions.
- Requires a working knowledge of ERP systems.
