Position Summary...What you'll do...As a Software Engineer III - Developer in Test, a part of Sam's Global Technologies Team, you will be responsible for enhancing Sam's Club Intelligent Data Insights that support associate and member experiences with the most modern tools and research. You will collaborate with cross-functional software and quality engineers to build best in class technology solutions to tackle complex problems on a massive scale.About Team: Sam's Club is our membership warehouse club, a business model that provides our members with high-quality products at prices that are unrivaled by traditional retail. Sam's Club provides a carefully curated assortment of items, as well as developing and leading technologies and services such as Scan & Go, Club Pickup, and home delivery service in select markets. Sam's Club also provides travel, auto purchasing, pharmacy, optical, hearing aid centers, tire and battery centers, and a portfolio of business operations support services. In this particular role, you will be working in the Replenishment Space where we are currently focused on building the next gen Order Management System where we re-imagine the allocation, fulfilment and inventory monitoring & management as we head towards an omnichannel OMS for Sam's.What you'll do:
  • Design and develop efficient complex and scalable software tools and solutions using Node.js, Java and Python
  • Design software with efficient use of databases (SQL/NoSQL) such as Casandra, Cosmos and Oracle and other related technologies
  • Developed dashboard for reporting various metrices using React, Redux and other related technologies
  • Develop automation scripts using latest market tools and technologies like Javascript, Jest, Babel, Lerna, Webdriver IO and puppeteer
  • Design automated scripts and analyze issues / defects using Splunk, New Relic and other developer tools
  • Develop automated continuous integration and delivery (CI/CD) pipelines for deployment of software for e- commerce
  • Design and develop application environments in Azure, Oneoops and other cloud infrastructure technologies
  • Develop scripts for complex commerce applications with integrated fulfillment system, vendor systems, order management systems, inventory management system and many more
  • Code management and versioning using version control tools like GIT
  • Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Analytics and DevOps teams to ensure better quality and stability of the application
  • Contribute in all phases of development life cycle starting from gathering requirements, development, testing, and code deployment to production environment to ensure that the design follows the specification
  • Participate in the scrum planning sessions, evaluate testing methodologies, and suggest new techniques that will help deliver high-quality features
What you'll bring:
  • 5+ years of experience developing and testing highly distributed, complex eCommerce Platforms
  • At least 3+ years hands-on scripting (automation) experience in any of the following languages - JAVA or similar
  • Experience testing software at API and webservice level
  • Able to perform testing for feed in various formats like XML, json, EDI,csv
  • Experience testing different web service methodologies REST, SOAP, over XML, JSON payloads
  • Understanding of web technology including HTTP headers, HTTP Verbs (post, get, etc).
  • Validating and certifying web services using Soap UI / TestNG / Cucumber etc tools
  • Strong prior experience in QA test technologies such as JUnit, TestNG or equivalent technologies.
  • Experience with Agile Methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience working with relational database (Oracle, MySQL)
  • Hands on experience working with SQL Query, SQLDR
  • Familiarity with Unix commands and scripts
  • Experience with Continuous Integration and related tools (Jenkins/Hudson/CruiseControl/Maven/Ant)
  • Experience and knowledge of cloud enabled services / applications
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Hands-on experience with Eclipse, Spring Tools Suite or other IDE development tools
  • Experience with distributed source control systems such as Git, CVS
  • Experience with test environment management and support while working with multiple stake holders
